Toyota is recalling 27,080 RAV4 vehicles because they were not shipped with correct load carrying capacity identification labels. The labels don’t conform to federal safety standard #110 related to tire selection and rims.
Toyota is notifying owners and will provide new accurate labels to be installed over the inaccurate label at no charge. Toyota will begin the recall on or about August 31, 2009. Owners may contact Toyota at 1-888-270-9371. Owners can also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administrator’s hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
If you are repairing your own Toyota, be sure to utilize one of the many appropriate Toyota repair manuals. The right manual can save you countless time and money.
