We went shopping today for a replacement manifold for the 1994 Ford Ranger XLT with the 6- cylinder 3.0 liter engine. This is part F960774. Here’s a recap of the prices, including shipping charges, we found from online merchants. These do not include the manifold gasket which is typically sold separately. None of these includes a core swap. We think you’ll see it pays to shop around.
- PartsTrain has a passenger-side Replacement brand exhaust manifold listed for $64.19. It is made of cast iron and ships in 1-2 business days. But when we put the item into our shopping cart to determine shipping costs, the price changed to $42.08 + $6.88 shipping + $1.65 handling for a total of $50.61. Why they list the item for more money than they charge is a mystery to us.
- Auto Parts Warehouse lists the driver-side Replacement brand exhaust manifold for $50.61 with free shipping. Their site says you can register and qualify for exclusive discounts.
- Is it a mystery that PartsTrain and Auto Parts Warehouse have exactly the same total price, albeit with different price and shipping combinations? No, they are owned by the same corporation.
- JC Whitney doesn’t carry an exhaust manifold for the 1994 Ford Ranger. They only had some gaskets and bolts but not the actual manifold.
- Parts Geek has a right side Replacement brand exhaust manifold for $52.98 + $10.95 shipping for a total $63.93. They also offered optional shipping insurance for $3.95. Parts Geek also lists a Dorman brand exhaust manifold for $59.98 but indicated they are out of stock on this item.
- Auto Body Parts Store has a RH (is that right hand?) Replacement brand exhaust manifold for $24.59 + $5.50 shipping for a total of $30.09. They also list a Dormant brand manifold kit that includes all hardware and the gaskets for $75.94 and since it is over $50 they include free ground shipping to the lower 48.
- Speedy Auto Parts has an “outer, sedan” (is that right side?) exhaust manifold for the 1994 Ranger listed for $16.78 and they say it usually ships within 24 hours. Notably their shopping cart was broken and wouldn’t let me calculate shipping nor actually check out.
- Auto Parts Deal has a Replacement brand passenger side for $42.08 + $6.88 shipping + $1.65 handling for a total of $50.61.
- Car Parts Wholesale on eBay lists a “new” exhaust manifold for $32.88 and free standard shipping to the lower 48. They also take PayPal and offer free return shipping.
- Individual seller on eBay, Mark Olson, is listing a new exhaust manifold for $20.00 + $15.00 economy USPS Parcel Post shipping for a total of $35.00.
- Drivewire doesn’t carry an exhaust manifold for the year we needed. Seemed the nearest they carried was for the 1996 model.
As you can see, in-stock prices ranged from a low of $16.78 to $63.93. It really pays to shop around.
